Hi love, I’m Melinda — creator of The YoHIIT Method, yoga and fitness coach, published author, and mama to two beautiful girls who have completely reshaped the way I see my body, my time, and my purpose.
I didn’t grow into this work from a place of having it all figured out. I came to it from burnout, confusion, and a very real disconnection from my own body. For years, I was known as the “yoga girl” online. I taught flows, stretches, and mobility to millions of people on YouTube and social media. On the outside, it looked like I was the picture of health and alignment. On the inside, especially after becoming a mom, I was exhausted, overwhelmed, and struggling to recognize myself in my own skin.
Motherhood cracked me open in the most beautiful and confronting way. I loved my baby more than anything, but I also quietly grieved the independence, spontaneity, and clear direction I used to feel in my life. My body had changed. My schedule was no longer my own. My energy was pulled in a thousand directions. I felt guilty for wanting time for myself, and at the same time resentful when I didn’t get it. That disconnect showed up as emotional eating, anxiety, self-doubt, and an on-and-off relationship with movement. I knew I needed something deeper than “just work out harder” or “snap back.”
That’s when I began to blend everything I knew about yoga, strength training, HIIT, and somatic healing into one nervous system–friendly approach. I started playing with shorter, intentional workouts that combined yoga, breath, and strength-based intervals. Some days it was a 20-minute YoHIIT session. Other days it was a gentle flow, a somatic shake-out, or simply a few minutes of mindful movement mixed with deep breathing. I stopped trying to punish my body into changing and instead started listening to it. I let my nervous system lead, and I allowed joy, curiosity, and presence to be part of my training just as much as discipline and effort.
Over time, something powerful happened. My body got stronger, leaner, and more sculpted, yes...but the real transformation was inside. I rebuilt my confidence. I reconnected with my feminine energy and inner fire. I started feeling proud of what my body could do instead of obsessed with what it used to look like. I realized that sustainable, magnetic results don’t come from hating your body into submission. They come from partnering with your body, working with your hormones and stress instead of against them, and creating movement rituals that support real life, not a fantasy version of it.
Today, I teach women and men all over the world through my YouTube channel, online programs, and guides like this one. My work lives at the intersection of strength and softness: sculpting muscles while softening stress, building endurance while honoring your nervous system, and helping you create a body and lifestyle that actually feel good to live in!
